The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy
June 25, 2008
I have just rediscovered a book of Tim Burton poems, all off them featuring misfit children with very unusual problems. I thought I’d post some.
Stick Boy and match girl in love
Stick Boy liked Match Girl,
He liked her a lot.
He liked her cute figure,
he thought she was hot.
But could a flame ever burn
for a match and a stick?
It did quite literally;
he burned up quick.
well. That may have been the saddest love ever but not as sad as
Jimmy, the Hideous Penguin Boy
“My name is Jimmy,
but my friends just call me
‘the hideous penguin boy.’”
Now that was the saddest one ever. These two poems and all of the others that go with them are available at http://homepage.tinet.ie/%257Esebulbac/burton/home.html
